Getting “back in shape” is something we often tell ourselves but sometimes rarely MAKE time to do. One way that exercise and that keeps us active is to explore local sites, and take our scooter, bike, and/or walking shoes with us. And our recent most favorite place to ride our scooters is Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis on the Mighty Mississippi River! Annnnd, we enjoy more than just "Rolling on the River"… The Mississippi River is quite a mighty, natural force, and IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! The trails that have been provided for us along the river are soooo inviting, open, broad, extensive, and ALWAYS THERE! They’re just right for walking, walking the dog, jogging, scooting, skating, and biking. Then there are several open grassy areas for flying kites, frisbees, soccer, volleyball, or just a relaxing lunch upon your favorite beach towels or picnic blankets. Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis is simply…SPLENDID! Just like any homeschool nature walk (see here), there’s always more to do than just walk, or in this case, scoot. You, too, can enjoy several of these activities listed below while you indulge in your daily morning walk, run, bike, or scoot.
My son absolutely LOVES his scooter, and he thoroughly enjoys riding up and down the hills and valleys on any trail. Something about downtown Memphis’ trails along the beautiful Mississippi River make scooting (and homeschool adventures) even more memorable. Grab your bike or scooter, head out to a nearby park or trail, and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful nature that life here and now has to offer. Be encouraged and be inspired! :) Be sure to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube for more fun, educationally, engaging activities and tips for you and your homeschoolers to enjoy, together! “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.” Mother Teresa More articles you'll enjoy listed below!
