K-3rd Grade "Native American Headbands!" During our FOURTH class together, in celebration of Thanksgiving, the Kindergarten through 3rd Grade Students ventured into making Native American Headbands! We first studied line patterns, line designs, and line art. Then we learned about my new favorite artist, Mr. Wayne Thiebaud, while viewing and critiquing two of his famous dessert paintings ("Lemon Meringue Pie" [1964] and "Cakes" [1963]). Then, students created unique line patterns on their headbands and added their chosen feather. It was FABULOUS! Thanks, class! Enjoy the various, uniquely creative line designs below. :)

Love it when history is reflected in art.
